David Greene Attorney

Getting to Know David

When J. David Greene ran his own landscaping business, he understood the immense risk of a single injury leading to financial ruin. That’s why, upon graduating from law school, he made the conscious decision to help others. David empathizes with the stress of meeting bills and strives to assist those facing similar challenges.

Early Life

David’s childhood revolved around Mobile, AL, where his parents worked in a paper mill and as educators. Unlike many lawyers, David didn’t embark on his career in law right away.

Education and Early Business Ventures

Having obtained a degree in communications and marketing from the University of South Alabama, David served as a regional sales manager for a New York-based manufacturer in southern Alabama. Following this, he took the leap and founded his own landscaping company in Mobile. David’s humble beginnings grant him a unique ability to connect with juries effectively, ultimately resulting in higher compensation for injury claims.

After establishing a successful landscaping company, David pursued his Juris Doctorate at the Jones School of Law in Montgomery, AL. Upon becoming a licensed attorney, he joined forces with Will Phillips to establish Greene & Phillips Attorneys at Law in Mobile. Starting with just two lawyers and a secretary operating from a small house, the firm has since grown substantially. Today, it boasts a large staff and occupies a three-story building on North Florida Street in midtown Mobile.

The Birth of Greene & Phillips

With complementary businesses and aligned core philosophies, David and Will have steadily cultivated the firm into its present state, adeptly handling extensive caseloads. As the Managing Member of Greene & Phillips, David oversees a range of legal areas, including wrongful death, auto accidents, job site accidents, and catastrophic injuries.

Noteworthy Settlements

In a landmark trucking case involving a college student who suffered a traumatic brain injury and was left paralyzed, David served as the lead attorney. Collaborating with his law partners, Will G. Phillips and Britt V. Bethea, David successfully litigated the case, ultimately securing a $9.5 million settlement.

Conferences and Television Appearances

David frequently appears as a guest expert on the Studio 10 program of the local Fox affiliate, discussing various topics related to personal injuries. In addition, he was invited to address fellow injury attorneys at the 2013 Atlas Law Conference in Washington DC.

A Pilot with Expertise

Boasting a valid instrument rating and endorsements for high-performance, high-altitude flights, David regularly employs the firm’s airplane to meet with clients and case experts. His experience as a pilot significantly aids aviation-related injury cases, given the intricate and occasionally complex nature of aviation policies and procedures.

Family and Community Involvement

David and his wife Tonja have three children: J., Kara Beth, and Alex. They actively participate in the North Mobile Baptist Church community, with David serving as a board member of the Alabama Independent Colleges and Universities.
