St. Francis School of Law recently participated in the prestigious nationwide Law School Survey of Student Engagement (LSSSE) for 2015. Out of the St. Francis students who participated in the survey, a remarkable 93% expressed that they would definitely or probably choose to attend the school again. The survey revealed that St. Francis’ faculty excels at providing prompt feedback to students regarding their academic performance. An impressive 93% of students reported receiving timely feedback, far surpassing the average of 56% to 58% among the comparison law school groups. Emphasis on Writing Skills
St. Francis’ commitment to developing students’ writing skills was evident in the survey results. A significant 77% of students reported completing more than six papers of fewer than five pages, performing favorably compared to the 23% to 26% from the comparison law school groups. Additionally, 78% of St. Francis students stated that they had written between seven to ten papers of more than five pages, compared to under 20% in the comparison schools. This emphasis on writing sets St. Francis students apart, as it is an essential skill for a successful legal career.
Seasoned Faculty Members
The LSSSE survey also highlighted the quality and accessibility of St. Francis’ faculty. These experienced professionals bring substantial practice experience to the classroom, ensuring students receive real-world insights. With only 15 students per class section, meaningful faculty-student interactions are encouraged. Approximately 80% of St. Francis students reported positive relationships with both faculty members and peers, highlighting the school’s collaborative and supportive environment.

Approximately 87% of students reported frequently asking questions in class, while 80% engaged in discussions outside of class. St. Francis students expressed a high level of satisfaction with the available academic support services. An impressive 80% of students who utilized academic advising reported 100% satisfaction, while all students reported satisfaction with personal counseling. Academic Rigor and Excellence
The LSSSE survey confirmed the academic rigor of St. Francis’ program. The students’ dedication was evident as they consistently came to class prepared, asked questions during class, and engaged in multiple drafts of their assignments. St. Francis students also demonstrated a higher frequency of emailing faculty and discussing assignments with their professors compared to students in the comparison law school groups. Moreover, St. Francis students reported that their exams challenged them to perform at their best and required them to analyze, synthesize, and make judgments more frequently than students in other law schools.
